Birthdays that will never come

17 August 2018 — 31 August 2018

Precinct 35 is pleased to present ‘Birthdays that will never come’ by NY-based Henry Hargreaves. Paying homage to the ‘uncelebratable’, Christchurch born Henry has created a new series of works depicting birthday cakes for names submitted and subsequently declined. In celebration for the 10th anniversary for Visa’s Wellington On A Plate, Henry’s show runs here at Precinct 35 until August 26.

Henry Hargreaves is a New Zealand photographer & food artist based in New York. Born in Christchurch, his work looks at the stories, rituals and habits we form around food.  Always playful, cheeky, nostalgic and colourful, Henry’s work has been exhibited all over the world from the Venice Biennale and Art Basel, to his grandma's nursing home.
